Day 1 - Call me Susie Frickin' Homemaker
There is a side of me that a lot of people don't know about.
However if you have half of a brain and follow me on Twitter/Facebook you will all know my dirty little secret.
I cook like a mother *bleeper*.
Let me rewind about 14 years.
My Mom (aka "Grandmother") handed me my very first cook book.
I find it amazing that I was able to find and image of it, but there it is my friends.
I distinctly remembered baking the "Elephant Ears" from the letter E section.
It was basically a jelly roll.... and delicious.
Ever since then I have found excuses to bake or cook things for family, friends, and even co-workers.
I cannot remember how long I have had a "Recipe Box" on Foodnetwork, but I do know I have nearly a 100 recipes on there. The majority of which I HAVE cooked/baked.

Holy crap was it good. I personally can say so because I impressed even my boyfriends family... who are very tough critics.
It contains sauté d chicken, onions, cheese, corn tortillas smothered in this amazing tomato enchilada sauce.
Let me tell ya... it was spicy in a very very good way.
Cooking/Baking has always made me feel good.
I enjoy watching others delight in something that I created just for them.
The whole process is like therapy to me.
Although writing is my main way to release the tensions of the day, cooking helps me block it out all together.
I focus on the recipe at hand; blending the spices, boiling the sauce, sautéing the onions, grilling the chicken... each task has my complete focus while everything else blurs into the background.
Last night I was upset with my boyfriend and just frustrated, so much so it was affecting me being able to enjoy myself at my friends home. Tonight I set aside my anger and cooked.
Now I feel perfectly fine... not to mention full.
Do you have a way to calm your nerves?
What do you do when you are angry?
Do you scream? Bake? Write? Paint? Walk/Run?
What do you use as an outlet?
I would love to hear I am not alone.
Thanks for reading!
One day down, 30 more to go.
xoxo
